Last Thursday I watched an episode of E.R. where each segment was followed by one that preceded it chronologically, like the movie Memento or that Indian wedding episode of Seinfeld. This reminded me that I've been meaning to write about how I really dislike the fact that all blogs are in reverse chronological order.

Either I read from top to bottom and get a Memento-like experience, seeing references to things I am supposed to have already experienced;

Or, on the other hand, I can try reading from the bottom, two paragraphs down, three up, one down, four up--no wait, that's part of the "next" message--and so on.

I suppose people who check their blogs every 15 minutes don't have this problem, but I have a job.

No doubt I'm in the minority, but I can't be the only one who finds this annoying. So, for those who are working on news aggregators, blog outliners and the like, please include a chronological sort option.
